Who would be a teenager?

Esther is a teenager with a very individual identity and what could be, politely, described as a disfunctional family. Dad lives in the basement, twin brother has taken fear of the dark to a whole new level, mum is a superstitious wannabe witch and her best friend an elective mute. Top that off with a crush on a pickpocket heartbreaker and you just know that Esther is not going to have an easy ride into adulthood. You know what, I don't think Esther really cares she just wants to be HER and to heck with the consequences.

Told with a dark, quirky humour I found myself grinning in the opening chapters and especially at the descriptions of Esther's family and home.
