I really enjoyed reading this and got through the most of it in one day. I enjoyed how the characters where quite different to any I had read before and the interesting portrayal of mental health through the novel. I found it such a novel way of displaying to possibly younger and more impressionable/understanding readers how mental health can really take hold of your life through no fault of your own.
I found the relationship between Esther and Jonah a bit forced, it didn't seem like it occurred all that naturally, but I did really enjoy their dynamic. The characters individually though were well formed and I felt like they all added something to the story. I thought the structure of the book might get a bit boring/repetitive what with each being a different fear, but I was pleasantly surprised when this was subverted.
