This book was very different from other books I've read. This book deals with anxiety, self-harm and suicide. It really puts mental illness at the forefront. This book was magical in its own way. It had dry humour along the journey of a girl overcoming her fears, however small or big they were. She found out that she was not alone in conquering her fears. It is a story that many people can relate to whether you have irrational fears or not.
It also had representation of a broken family, and that not all parents are perfect, and it also showed how a parents behaviour can have a major effect on their children.
Jonah and Esther embark on this journey to help overcome their fears and they grow in their friendship with every fear overcome. This book is very inspiring and encouraging. It makes me want to make a list of my own fears and begin to conquer them one by one, and it will definitely make you feel the same way.
