This book is a Boomer's worst nightmare...unless they're a "woke" progressive Boomer. Good news is I am not a Boomer and so I enjoyed this. Whilst it is humour, it makes many valid points. I love turkey (and meat in general) too much to cut that out of my Christmas, but Dave Skinner makes many points regarding Christmas crackers, topics at family gatherings and Christmas trees.

Cloaked in humour/satire, there are some fairly valid ways to make Christmas a little more ecologically and emotionally friendly. There are also some fairly ludicrous suggests that keep the mood light, too :)

My favourite part was undoubtedly his new rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas. It's lyrics I can actually get behind, I wouldn't mind being put through having to sing it in full and some good things to actually consider doing/incorporating into Christmas.

Whilst this is a delightful little book to pass round to friends in the under 40-ish age group, you might want to keep this away from the less open-minded, older, ultra conservative folk in your life. They're bound to not realise this is ultimately satire.
