I think this little book would make a cute present e.g. Secret Santa, stocking filler. It does what it says on the cover - provides a light-hearted approach to 'surviving' the festive period, which is especially applicable to 2020! The book is filled with anecdotal quotes and facts about important traditional features of Christmas e.g. Christmas trees, crackers, family (!), and ways of changing these up. I like how Dave Skinner includes alternative options for Christmas, many of which sound beneficial for the environment.
I do think that this book could have been funnier, as some of the 'jokes' and witty sections seemed a bit forced throughout the book; however, I do think the author has included many comprehensive 'parts' of Christmas, and found ways of pulling these apart in a funny way! It was an amusing read nonetheless, and a perfect book for reading quickly, or for indeed sharing with the family at Christmas time!
