First off, it was a smaller and shorter book than I assumed it would be.
Whilst I did enjoy the book, it was funny in places, gave you facts and figures and made you think about some of the traditions surrounding the holidays, I was expecting a few more laughs, some bits to be a bit more tongue in cheek, and if I’m honest, a sarcastic overtone. But that’s my opinion. That was my expectation.
For me, it could have been better overall. It is sold as a ‘survival guide’, so I was expecting a first person walk through of the holiday and how to avoid the bits that the majority of us don’t enjoy about the whole debacle. The bah humbug in me thought the book could have gone a different way, keeping it light and funny and just took the piss, basically.
Although, the title does say ‘snowflake’ so I suppose I got exactly what I was supposed to, in the end? Who can say.
