I think the concept of a snowflake has a lot of weight in today's political climate, so I was nervous going into this book thinking it would do more harm than good to those pursuing activism for marginalized communities. Overall, although the book was definintely written with a more humorous tone, I think it did a good job portraying the 'bad' side of Christmas. I don't usually appreciate people making fun of "woke" culture, but I don't think it does it in a way that is outright offensive. The good thing is that it opened my eyes to all the bad things that happen during Christmas that we choose to ignore in the spirit of the holidays - the Christmas Trees, non-recyclable crackers and wrapping paper. Since reading this book, I've taken this into consideration whenever I buy gifts or partake in holiday activities. I think we too often ignore the environmental impact of our actions when we're having fun. We have a responsibility to be more mindful about our consequences for the sake of the Earth.
