Initially I liked the idea of this book and loved the front cover. I read the first look and that put me off quite alot as I felt the author is too negative in parts. I wanted to give the book a chance and reading on I found I enjoyed it more than I had expected but overall it's not really a book I would recommend. I am still unclear what the book really is. Is it meant to be funny? Is it meant to raise important issues? Or is it just a moan about Christmas? Perhaps all three but that didn't really entertain me. I definitely agree with several of the important issues raised and I do like some of the suggestions that readers can try to reduce waste at Christmas. I also definitely liked the idea that we should make "snowpeople" because why should male be the default when it comes to making figures out of snow! I also liked Appendix B which has cute animal pictures to calm the reader down. While this book isn't really for me I am giving it as a Christmas present to a friend who isn't keen on Christmas, so we will see what she makes of it!
