Such an easy to read opening with a swanky location to boot, but thanks to Caroline’s first-person narrative we see that things aren’t quite as perfect as they appear. With her daughter having left home for college, a husband who travels and a house and party he doesn’t care for being just some of her insecurities.
Things feel ominous from the start, Caroline feels vulnerable and I’m already fretting about the stranger and what I expect will be a roller coaster storyline full of surprises, twists and revelations.
