A subtle, creepy and intreguing start
A brilliant start, giving off the "Strangers on the train" vibe that I love, A stranger on the beach throws you right into the heart of the story. It sounds really interesting and I was very disappointed to get to the end of the extract. I am really looking forward to seeing where this is going to go.
Caroline seems like a really sympathetic character, with a realistic reaction to the news she is given at the start (or at least her interpretation) and it is really nice to see a good sisterly relationship showing through. Jason is portrayed with a good degree of interest - it's already clear that to the reader that there is more to the situation than meets the eye and this is why I want to keep reading.
All in all a brilliant start and I can't wait to finish the rest.
