A Stranger on the Beach is a cracking thriller by Michele Campbell. Set in the Hamptons and New York City, it tells the story of Caroline, the wife of a wealthy businessman, and Aidan, a local bartender with a shady past.
On the eve of her house warming, Caroline’s marriage begins to fall apart as she suspects that her husband has been cheating on her. She seeks solace and drunken comfort in Aidan but soon begins to regret this decision.
A Stranger on the Beach weaves together the strands of Caroline’s guilt, marital difficulties and determination to keep her family safe with Aidan’s checkered past and obsessions. The chapters change narrator regularly, giving different versions of events and keep the reader guessing as to which, if any, are the truth.
A great read with lots of little details and great characters: definitely a page turner!
