"A Stranger on the Beach" by Michele Campbell is quite a good read, albeit slightly confusing at times.

The story starts well, and revolves around Caroline, who owns a beautiful beach house with her husband, and Aidan, whose grandfather previously owned the plot on which the house is built. Following a disastrous house-warming party, the pair embark on a relationship which is troubled right from the start. Caroline's husband Jason goes missing, and Aidan is suspected of murder although no body has been found. Caroline, too, disappears once the police investigations begin.

The story is told from their different viewpoints, and this is where the confusion begins. Even when Caroline and Aidan are recounting the same series of events, their stories are conflicting and at odds with each other; everything they describe is completely different and it is impossible to know who is telling the truth.

The novel gains a bit of momentum "after the storm,"and (whilst I saw the ending coming, but not the reason) I enjoyed this part of the book much more than the lead-up to it, although some of the action was questionable and unrealistic.
