This book was twisty and full of suspense. One minute I felt I knew the plot only to change my mind as each chapter put doubts in my mind.
Caroline Stark seems to have it all, a lavish lifestyle, wealth husband and beautiful daughter but somehow she feels something is missing in her life. As she prepares for a housewarming for her newly acquired beach house, her life implodes as she fears her husband is having an affair. She reaches out to a young bartender Aiden for comfort and embarks on a revenge affair. Her one night stand turns into more than she bargained for as Aiden becomes obsessed with her.
The dual storytelling was brilliant. Both Caroline and Aiden told their own perspectives on events and each one was as convincing as the other leading me to question the true story and authenticity of them both. The short punchy chapters were a bonus as after reading one I couldn’t help but read just one more (which usually led me to a few more.)
Michele Campbell’s writing is so well plotted, her characters are multi layered and totally draw the reader in. I loved the intense ending a truly fantastic book which I would definitely recommend.
