This book is a satisfying read.
It has a great conclusion which doesn’t leave any worrying questions unanswered as so many of the psychological thrillers I have read recently have.
The construction of the book is very similar to that of the previous Michele Campbell book I have read - It’s Always the Husband. The first part sets out events which led to the crime then the second part deals with the investigation and trial.
The alternating chapters in the first part from the differing viewpoints of Caroline and Aidan was a clever device to keep the reader guessing who was really telling the truth.
I have now added Michele Campbell’s other book She Was the Quiet One to my reading list and I will be eagerly awaiting the publication of future books from this brilliant author.
