Caroline has everything – a husband she has been with for 20 years, a teenage daughter and a beautiful water front beach house. After her husband shows up with a mysterious Russian woman at their house party, Caroline realises things aren’t as perfect as she thinks. Embarrassed and humiliated, she meets Aidan, a younger, handsome bar man and soon seeks solace in his arms. After one night with him guilt gets the better of her and she returns home. To her it was nothing but to Aidan it was everything. He thinks he's in love and his obsession with her grows. Soon he starts to appear everywhere. Caroline feels hunted, haunted and scared at the thought of her secret coming out and losing her wealthy lifestyle.

Told from both characters' points of view, this is an intriguing and fascinating read. Caroline’s view tells of a violent stalker, intent on destroying her life. Aidan’s take is different – a man in love with an older woman, determined to ‘save’ her from a possibly violent husband who is having financial troubles and is mixed up with a shady crowd. Who do we believe?

Well this was a gripping and fabulous read. It gave a new meaning to the term ‘fatal attraction’ and I can see this easily being made into a film. The characters are both likeable and unlikeable in their own ways. It plays with your head – both views are plausible and things escalate about half way into the book, leading to the police getting involved.

I cannot recommend this book enough! If you loved watching 'The Affair' on TV then this is for you. If you love thinking wow I really don't know who I believe here you will be right into this. A rollercoaster of a book that has ups and downs and sideways! I will definitely look out for more books by this author! Loved it!
