I listened to the audiobook version of this book, and although originally not what I expected, I enjoyed it enough to give it a three-star rating and buy the next book in the series (which I have yet to pick up off my shelf - whoops!).

I'm not big on cop detective thrillers, as they tend to follow all the same storylines. The cop is divorced. Cop lives in a sad little apartment. Cop messed up on a case and this is their last chance at solving a case. And whilst that pretty much sums up A Tapping at My Door, I didn't mind it. I enjoyed it. It kept me guessing and entertained.

I didn't personally feel an attachment to any of the characters, least of all Nathan Cody, as he just felt a little cold for my liking, but hopefully, I'll warm up to him when I finally get around to reading the next book in the series.

The writing was good, and the book gave enough details of violence without turning off those with a weak stomach. A good read.
