A great sense of place - Liverpool. We'll soon have authors covering every region in the UK with these wonderful, instinctive but flawed murder detectives - Ian Rankin (Edinburgh), Alex Gray (Glasgow), Val McDermid (Northern England), Elly Griffiths (Norfolk), Mark Billingham, Simon Kernick and many others (London) Peter James (Brighton) etc
Nathan Cody is on a par with these greats and I agree with the Guardians review on the front cover 'recalls Harlan Coben though for my money Jackson is the better writer'. Great repartee between the characters. This book also reminds the reader of the real and ongoing tragedies in which the police played a part and which still deeply affect those who were involved and their families.
Can't wait to read the second novel featuring Nathan Cody 'Hope to Die' and David Jackson's previous 4 books.
