The first title of this series did not disappoint!

I have read all of the American NYPD Detective Callum Doyle series and so was excited to learn the author was writing a new series set in the UK. I am not normally a huge crime reader, but I love the style of writing and the twists the author incorporates into his plots. The writing really gets under my skin and I often find I'm a little scared to turn off the light once I've read far more than I should before bedtime and I've become so wrapped up in the plot that it's difficult to return to the real world. The main character is intriguing and human and his relationships with the supporting characters show different sides to him. The plot is tense and highly atmospheric, but not for the faint hearted as the crimes themselves are often horrific and complex. I can't wait to read the next one in the series.
