This book is excellently written and kept me enthralled throughout.
However I was slightly disappointed by the ending. I got very invested with DS Cody and DC Webley but I didn't feel like there was an conclusion to the story.
I would love to read the next one (if there is one) - when picking this one up I did not realise there was a first book. However this did not stop me reading or understanding what was happening in this book.
I love how it was written with short chapters meaning I was able to pick it up and read a bit around my 2 kids. (long chapters makes this harder)
The violent bits were just violent enough he did not shy away from his descriptions.
