The opening of this book completely got into my head and I didn’t think I would pick it up again. However, with it being set in Liverpool (most crime seems to be set down south), I reached for it again and continued- without reading the opening chapter again.
On the whole this book was such an easy read. I did find myself wincing at a scene later in the book, but at least I managed to sleep that night . Unlike the first chapter. Hang on, I just need to go and check that the door is locked.
The ending and the reason for the crime, in hindsight, was predictable but everything else was good. It was an a easy read and it kept me hooked. Would I continue with this series, yes.
