Engaging if a little over explanatory

This is the second of the series featuring Her Maj as an investigator of mysteries, although her assistant Rozie tends to do most of the work. To be fair though it wouldn’t be very easy for the Queen herself to make undercover enquiries! The writing is witty although there is a tendency to explain everything in minute detail. This is another author ‘in the know’ who wants to make sure that everyone knows this. A body is found near the Royal swimming pool by one of the Queen’s aides. We then go back to several months earlier when the Queen has spotted one of her paintings somewhere it ought not to be and the self same Aide is being educated on the fact that the palace is falling apart. It’s very much one for royal watchers - an homage to the Queen ( as well as Sherlock Holmes) but it is quite engaging. I have no doubt that I would also enjoy reading it
