I was immediately drawn into this murder mystery. Perfect for a cold winter read, the characters were so well written. I could picture the Queen whose attention to detail is infamous being able to recognise a painting from her personal collection during a brief visit. I thnk this book could be read as a standalone eventhough its the second in the series. I really enjoyed the 'Windsor Knot' and really want to finish this sequel.
