A Three Dog Problem by SJ Bennett continues the stories of the Queen solving mysteries. A Windsor Knot was incredibly well written and A Three Dog Problem is every bit as enjoyable. Once again, Rozie, the Queen's APS, helps the Queen by searching out information, speaking to people and going places that the Queen is unable to do. On a visit to Portsmouth the Queen spots a painting that used to hang opposite her bedroom door but went missing many years ago. This discovery sparks an investigation that uncovers much more with many people involved in years gone by. It quickly becomes apparent that, far from being a historic problem, there is an even deeper problem of theft that continues to that day. In any house there are occasional breakages and even more so for the Queen with many houses and a large number of staff working on site. The investigation quickens pace after a member of staff has died, presumably an unfortunate accidents, although she and other staff have received poison pen letter. There are so many twists and turns this book is utterly compelling and impossible to put down. Very much looking forward to Ms Bennett's next book in November 2022.
