I have mixed feelings about this series. I’ve read all of the books so far, and I initially started because I spotted it on goodreads and thought oh, a series about the queen being a detective- sounds stupid, I bet it will be funny. So I picked it up and started reading as kind of a joke I suppose, and I was actually pleasantly surprised! Yes, it is cheesy, improbable and don’t expect any groundbreaking literature here. But it was fun and lighthearted and actually very compelling-I’m kind of hooked now, I can’t decide if I’m reading it as a joke still, or if I actually do enjoy it. Either way its good if you are looking for something light, relaxing- I’d say it would make a good book to read on a plane, for example.
We follow Queen Elizabeth and her assistant Rozie as they solve crimes in and around the royal palaces (this is set at Sandringham).
