A charming cosy crime for winter evenings.
Cosy crime is not a genre I usually read ,but maybe I should read more because I found this novel entertaining and delightful.
Buckingham Palace has a missing painting, a dead body, and thoroughly unpleasant poison pen letters targeting some of the staff. Enter H.M.Queen , who, over the years , has developed a skill for solving mysterious ( and sometimes sinister) happenings occurring in the vicinity of her royal residences. Sometimes, to clear her mind and give matters careful thought H.M. will take her dogs for a walk. Hence the title of the book, which is a reference to a quote from a Sherlock Holmes story “ it is quite a three pipe problem “ .
A lovely read, written with humour and peppered with references to the daily duties of the Queen , interaction with other members of the Royal Family and the political situation of the time (2016). A joy .
