I think this is a really clever idea for a story and it is such a fun and entertaining read, I really enjoyed it.
Based in the time just after the EU referendum, the Queen and her secretary Rozie, join together to solve the mystery of various occurrences in the palace. Firstly it is the appearance of a much loved painting from the Queens collection turning up at the Royal Navy exhibition and then there is the body of the unpopular housekeeper found beside the Palace swimming pool. On top of this members of the palace staff have been receiving anonymous letters.
With the Queen fully in charge, the two attempt to find out what is going. Along the way the reader is introduced to the members of the household and their duties, and an image is created, of the palace, of a glorious building but in much need of attention in places, with parts sealed off or out of bounds for safety. Together they delve into the past and look at the present to find the answers.
A great read which will make you think of the Queen in a completely different way in the future!
