I was really excited about the opening of the new novel from Bennett. I was a huge fan of the first one so was thrilled to win a copy of the second.

The novel opens in the aftermath of the referendum which has caused the country to feel divided. The last thing the Queen needs now is any additional and controversial problems to think about. Yet, one fine day brought about a new problem for her - a missing oil painting the Royal Yacht Britannia. This painting was first given to the Queen in the 1960s. However, this painting then turns up at the Royal Navy exhibition, causing a shock. Where had this come from? What was going on?

Things go from bad to worse... a body is found in the Palace swimming pool and the Queen finds herself in the middle of an investigation again. No spoilers here - but this novel is full of twists and turns and shocks that she and the reader aren't expecting. But, this time she has her loyal Rosie by her side and she is also determined to solve the case.

This novel is a bit of light hearted fun written by a great writer. I enjoyed it.
