Having really enjoyed the previous book in this series by S.J. Bennett; The Windsor Knot - I was looking forward to reading A Three Dog Problem.

Thankfully, this is just as good and it was lovely to spend some more time with her Majesty whilst sleuthing around Buckingham Palace.

The reoccurring characters are likeable and I kept thinking they would actually be good on TV - kind of a Sunday evening 'cosy' murder mysteries, think Death in Paradise or Midsomer Murders meets The Crown!

Having studied Art History, I loved all the talk of artists and paintings and could easily imagine the works they were discussing.

On a final note, as with the previous book - the endpapers in this hardback are absolutely lovely and make it feel rather special. I think this would make a good Xmas gift and it's not a problem if you haven't read the first book, you could easily read them out of order.

Looking forward to reading the next adventure.
