I thoroughly enjoyed this book - it's the perfect combination of a fantastic and complex mystery, with insights into the inner workings of the palace and royals. I particularly loved that two thirds of the way through the book I wasn't even sure how all the individual mysteries all joined up. There's this extra layer of complexity woven into the narrative in that it's Rozie and the Queen who are solving the mystery but they have to lead Sir Simon and the police to join up the dots themselves so no-one knows that the Queen is actually the brains of the operation! The narrative is also written with a real love and understanding of the challenges of living in the public eye for both the royal family and the people that work for them. I love how Her Majesty is depicted and I hope it's exactly what she's like in real life! I can't wait to read the next one in the series.
