When the body of a much disliked house keeper is found at the Palace pool, the Queen & her APS, Rozie, set out to discover who the murderer is. Their investigation starts out trying to track down one of the Queen's beloved paintings, the Britannia. Unbeknown to them, this sets off a chain of events; the discovery of poison pen letters, the body by the pool, and art fraud that has been happening under her majesty's nose for years.

This book breaks the detective fiction mould, with the Queen being a part time sleuth. It made it a light hearted read.
I really liked that the author had made the assistant private secretary, Rozie, into a young black lady, from a working class background, who is also a respected army officer veteran.
I also thought that Rozie and the Queen's relationship was brilliant, almost like a crime fighting Batman & Robin duo.

Although, this book was an easy, light hearted read, I felt it wasn't quite what I was expecting, and although I enjoyed it somewhat, I didn't love it.
That said, I will read the first book in the series at some point.
