I like the idea of shape-shifters. I like the idea of a fantasy kingdom with mythical creatures. And I enjoyed reading the extract.
But I can't help but feel that the characters are all too familiar. A headstrong young girl left with so much power but doesn't want it. A strong and mysterious guy who rescues her from danger. Maybe the plot strays from the typical later on in the book, but from the extract, it seems a bit predictable.
Nonetheless, I'm still curious about what happens next.
