To start with can we mention how pretty the cover of the book looks and with the beautiful illustrated headers that contain the chapter numbers on the pages. There are also pretty illustrations of feathers that have been placed next to the footers on the pages which makes this such an aesthetically pleasing book. The prologue introduces us to who I assume is our main protagonist Aderyn whom is first seen having a conversation with her father upon his deathbed. His final wishes encourage her to remain safe within the castle (even though Aderyn has no intention of locking herself away from the world) and introduces us to some sort of mystery that surrounds her mother. Following her father’s death, Aderyn becomes Her Grace and her life quickly changes as she now becomes a leader. This book sounds exactly like something that I’d enjoy as I’m a big fan of fantasy and honestly cannot wait to see how the narrative progresses. I’m quite excited to continue reading this!
