I didn't find the preview particularly compelling as it was mostly world building. However, the world building was well done so could enhance the plot when it gets going. I like the concept of bird shape shifters as this is something I haven't read before. The writing is very descriptive which unfortunately isn't my personal taste but if it is your style, it is done very well here. I would be willing to give this book a shot and see how it unfolds as I definitely think there is potential there.
