I have so many fantastic things to say about this novel. The first being that the cover is all kinds of pretty. Big Game Of Throne vibes!

Set in the Kingdom of Solanum, where a majority of nobles can transform into different types of birds. Owls, Swans, Ravens etc...
Then there are also the flightless. Who are mostly servants.
Aderyn is our lead protagonist. She can fly, but her traumatic past has made transformation extremely difficult for her. Shes been unable to transform for a long time. And after inheriting the role of protector of Atratys, she must find a way to regain the strength to fly again.
We follow Aderyn on her visit to court. She travels there with her Clerk, Lucien (whom I just adore!) her uncle is King, and she bonds with her two cousins, Aaron & Odette.
She also meets charming nobles...makes certain friendships & enemies ...deals in secrets & betrayals and finds love in unexpected places! All this while trying to hunt down her mothers murder!
This is a beautiful tale of strength and courage, set in my favourite kind of world. A land where beautiful creatures fly, Castles sit on rocky hills by picturesque shorelines and where magic exists!
And that ending! I need the next book ASAP to find out what happens next! ‘A Crown Of Talons’ will be the next book in this epic series.
