Now, I have so many feelings about this book. To the point it has just earned itself a permanent spot on my bookshelf. Aderyn is a wonderful character - driven, impulsive, kind and brave. Combined with Lucien, her clerk, it's a pairing that sparks romantic hope! This is just a truly magical book and I am completely in love with it. I can imagine the kingdom of Solanum clearly, almost as if I'm cast into the setting of Game of Thrones, with so many nations and each Protector so different in their ruling. This for me was on par with Caraval and Everless - a book to be sucked right into and swept away on the wings of a swan! I cannot wait for the sequel to be released in January! If you love Caraval and Everless like me, you need this book.
