Aderyns father dies just before her birthday causing her to inherit the role of protector of Atratys , where the nobles Have the ability to transform at Will into a bird that represents their bloodline. Interestingly aderyn can transform into a swan however since her mother’s death which left her scarred and since then has not been able to transform. At first I really sympathised with the character as she’s already experienced two huge losses and lost both the care and love of her parents. She now has no choice but to be within the shelter of the ruthless king. However aderyn has a lot more in her mind than to just sit around obediently under the kings rule and shelter, she desires to have questions answered and to see revenge, yet she discovers love along the way. This was such an exciting read as there were plot twists and turns in the books I did not expect and I was eager to see if she would turn into a swan again and how far she would go to achieve what she wanted, if u want to find out READ THIS BOOK!!
