As a zookeeper who looks after swans ducks and geese, this really intrigued me. I was also pleasantly surprised by the gold detailing on the cover.
The fantasy elements in this book is that nobility can transform into the bird of their house - which is pretty epic and something I wish I could do.
Unfortunately I don’t Reallt think that the young adult genre is really hitting the spot for me anymore. I find that that I struggle to connect with the characters and just don’t really care for the plots, a lot of the time I end up stopping before the end. This book also had a lot of telling and not showing. Overall I wasn’t gripped by the writing style, it felt quite simple. Again this could just be because I am getting over the young adult genre
