I wasn’t certain about reading Throne of Swans as fantasy and magic isn’t my usual choice for fiction. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this one! The cover is beautiful; without giving much away it draws the reader in and is inviting them to peep behind the gates!

The premise of Throne of Swans is interesting, a kingdom where the nobility are able to transform into various birds depending on their lineage. I would have liked some more detail about this because it was really quite fascinating and opened a world of possibilities. There are so many different facets to the story and that keeps the reader involved and wanting to read just another chapter. Aderyn really grows throughout the book, starting as a fairly sheltered, innocent young girl who is sadly pushed into a role sooner than she would wish. Her character development is very well described and she really grows on the reader!

I’m not sure I’m completely converted to fantasy but I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the next part
