My favorite genre is fantasy, high fantasy in particular. So I was very excited to receive this, for a review. That being said I haven't read young adult books since I was a teenager, but I really enjoyed this book! The writing was engaging and I was eager to get to the end! I am also impressed that both Katharine and Elizabeth managed to write this book together, my sister and I can't play Super Mario Kart without arguing, so the fact that both sisters have managed to produce this novel is impressive.

However, I don't think the story and the world building needed to rely that much on the story of swan lake. To be fair this was only a small part of the story (Odette's storyline) and it was important, but I really dislike the retelling fairy of tales. I believe that the fantasy concept that the novel is built around is strong enough to stand on its own, as it is well thought out and imaginative. But I have still given it 5 stars because I loved it!
