I remember browsing through amazon and finding this book, I obviously clicked because the cover was amazing; the blurb had me hooked and I added it to my basket straight away.
at first I was a little surprised at the authors writing style because the book is written in first person narrative! I am used to reading books, especially fantasies like this in third person. it took me a little while to get used to the choice in narrative but the author executed it perfectly.
as far as character goes, the main character is written very well and her trauma allows us to connect and understand her. she makes questionable decisions along the way but we feel sympathetic and understand why she does what she does.
I will definitely be buying the second book and look forward to giving it a read as soon as I possibly can.
