I should start by saying that I don’t read a great deal of fantasy but I thought that this would be a good choice to broaden my horizons and read more out of my comfort zone. I was also interested to see that this novel has two authors rather than a single one and I was curious to see how that would work in reality.
A Throne if Swans begins as Aderyn’s father dies which leaves her as the new Protector of Atraty’s. However this is not as simple as it sounds - Aderyn is unable to transform unlike others in the kingdom, a problem which if discovered will lead to unrest and a power struggle.
I enjoyed reading this book, the descriptions are rich and characters have been well thought out. I’m not sure this has conveyed me to a fantasy fan but it’s not a bad place to start if you fancy a new style!
