I really enjoyed this book and when I received it sat down to have a little skim through and got so engrossed in the story that I actually got so into it I managed to get half way through in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down!
This story is loosely based on the swan princess which is a story I am not very familiar with. This did not make my enjoyment of this book any less.
In this world nobles are able to transform into the birds that represents their family bloodline and our character Aderyns bird is the swan. Which she has not transformed into since the death of her mother. So when Aderyns father dies just before her birthday she inherits the role of protector of Atratys.
This story is so well written and I am so happy to hear that this is the first book in a duology. I will definitely be reading the next one!
