"A Woman Made of Snow" is another wonderful novel by Elisabeth Gifford.

I thoroughly enjoyed "The Lost Lights of St Kilda" and I was worried that this, her latest novel, would not live up to my expectations. My concerns were totally unfounded. This is another wonderful book - it is so beautifully written and very descriptive. It was easy to visualise the locations which are so well-described in this book - from the various places in Scotland and the journey to the arctic regions of Canada. They are so vividly described, that you feel as though you have been there.

This is a mystery story, as well as a family saga : I was captivated from the very first page . I loved the story of Caro, her husband and her initially-difficult mother-in-law, and the historic mystery they are attempting to solve. It is certainly a page-turner of a novel, and one which I would happily recommend. It does flit quite a bit between various timelines, but is very easy to follow. An absolutely lovely novel.
