As a healthcare student and a sucker for thriller I was hooked by the first few pages. After That Night opens with chaos in the Emergency Department as Dr Sara Linton assesses a patient in a appalling state and clinging onto her words that she may have been drugged and sexually assaulted. The reader later learns that this event it much closer to home than Sara realises.
Apparently this is a series, however as a newbie to Slaughter's book it is amazing how she has built my suspense for this story, my interest Sara's relationships and my curiosity for her past life.
As of a First Impression, this book has definitely received my vote and my readiness to join the next detective's work.
