I was gripped from the first page of this book which is initially set in the ER of an American hospital. The details are graphic and accurate and deal with a patient named Dani who has been in a car accident and who the female doctor is trying to save. The patient begs the doctor to stop the man who had attacked her before she fled in the car and the book then moves to 3 years later to explain what has happened. The doctor herself had been attacked herself years earlier so she is adamant she has to honour her promise to Dani when Dani sadly dies. If you are squeamish then this is not the book for you but it is well written and a great read.
