After That Night is Karin Slaughter's 11th Will Trent novel, and this is the work of a thriller writer in complete control of plotting, pacing and characterization. Beginning to end, Slaughter keeps the tension taut and the pacing propulsive. This roller-coaster ride kept me riveted, terrified, and ultimately satisfied. A highly recommended and commended series! Karin has written several series and many standalones but all are equally as good as each other. She is a superb writer and her storylines keep the reader gripped and on the edge of their seat. You can read this as a standalone but for the best enjoyment you would be better to read from the beginning .You will find that your understanding of the characters will grow with each book and you will not miss out on any backstory.
