I have read previous Karin Slaughter novels before, so was instantly keen to read her newest one, and it didn't disappoint. I thought the opening few chapters set the scene well, and the character development with Sara and her tragic history had me hooked. As someone who works within the medical field, I found the integration of 'medicine talk' written well for those who may not have the same level of training, and I enjoyed the connection between characters within the health professional/emergency services really interesting to read.

The book focuses on some potentially-triggering topics, and I think that Karin Slaughter covers these subjects in depth enough to both raise awareness and display empathy for real victims. The front cover grabs the readers attention, and I think this book overall fits into the Karin Slaughter series' well; it did not disappoint, 5 stars.

The ending was great and I would highly recommend this book to those who have enjoyed the author's previous novels, or those who enjoy a good thriller!
