this is the 1st book by Karin Slaughter i have read (although i have watched a couple of episodes of Will Trent), but i don't think that matters, the characters were all great and complex, i will defiantly be looking for the previous books so i can get more of the characters backstories, the story line in this book is very dark and maybe not for everyone (the investigation follows rapes and murders) but enjoyed following trying to put the pieces together, there are plenty of twists and turns, with some characters more likeable than others, the book exposes the way some rich people believe they can get away with everything if they spend enough money, and victims are sometimes treated when reporting crimes, i like will and sara, i definitely want to read the previous books to see how their relationship developed, if your looking for a dark crime drama i would definitely recommend this one
