Karin Slaughter came to me as highly recommended reading and having read 'After That Night' I can certainly see why. Whilst the subject matter may be quite upsetting, the way it is narrated has you hooked right from the beginning. Not having read any of Karin Slaughter's books before meant that all the characters were new to me but I soon felt I knew them and desperately wanted Sara, Will and Faith to solve the case and find the connection that would lead to them finding the culprits. Never before have I wanted justice so badly for those involved but the quality of writing made me feel as though these were real people who had suffered and were determined to ensure others who had suffered were not forgotten. A sad reminder that money talks and having it does not necessarily make someone a better person. Power resulting from wealth can be very dangerous.
