I always feel a sense of guilt and disappointment with myself when I give up on a book and don't see it through to the end. However, time is precious and sometimes you have to make those decisions.
I was super excited to win this book, I really loved the first impressions, but and it's a big but, the story is just incredibly waffly! I'm sitting their chomping on the bit, trying to will the story to pick up the pace, saying in my head "yes....and what happened then? Alright we get the back ground but come on people let's shift this on a bit!".
So here's what I know so far, Dr Sara Linton is a victim of rape fifteen years ago. She works in the emergency department in a hospital. One night a young woman is brought in with horrendous wounds and dies on the operating table. Sara is desperately trying to save her. The young girls last words to Sara were "I was raped", and she makes Sara promise to find whoever did this to her. Fast forward three years and Sara's on the dock giving evidence to the case, which unfortunately the guy walks free. However turns out that Sara knows the parents of the perpetrator, went to med school with them, and new information comes to light that might be linked with her own rape. All is not as it seems......and it takes forever for you to find that out!
Overall, what I read was ok, but I would recommend getting comfy and having a never ending drink on the go as you are going to be there a while!
